We were watching a video (also from my neice) called Rolie Polie Olie. In it, the mom loves to play the drums. I looked over at Kaylee and thought - wouldn't it be cool if she took up playing the drums? She liked the idea, so we set up her first drum set.
It was ear-piercingly loud, but it was a lot of fun. I made the mistake of giving her wooden spoons - thinking they might be quieter??? - but she managed to break those guys within a couple minutes. Oops, sorry honey! Now I know.
And now I also know to find padded drumsticks or else encourage her to play something much, much quieter!!! :)**I convinced her that it was very cool to play with her hands - like bongo drums. (and there was much rejoicing!) **
